Doris H. Rudrud, age 85 of Westby, died Monday, February 11, 2008. Doris H. Rudrud, age 85 of Westby, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua where she had been a resident since 2001. She was born on July 12, 1922 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to Otto T. and Mattie (Hanson) Hagen. On February 16, 1949 she was united in marriage to Alvin Sever Rudrud and they farmed in the Westby area for 31 years before retiring to Westby. She was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Rudrud (special friend Trixie Norcross) of Westby and Grant (Jenny) Rudrud of Viroqua; two daughters: Diane (John) Peters of Green Bay and Grace (Ramon, Jr.) Alvarez of Wales, WI; Grandchildren: Jason (Regina) Rudrud of Honolulu, HI, Jana (Fianc Richard LaPlante) of Wausau, WI, Jerrod Rudrud of Hudson, WI, Scott Peters of Green Bay, WI, Seri (Tom) Briggs of DePere, WI, Becky (Mike) Schuh of Green Bay, WI, Jessica Peters of Green Bay, WI, Ramon Alvarez, III (special friend Natalie), of Wales, WI, Eric Alvarez of Wales, WI, Miguel Alvarez of Wales, WI, Sanna Rudrud of DePere, WI, Heath Rudrud (special friend, Mattea) of LaCrosse, WI, and Brody Rudrud of Viroqua; one great-grandchild Justin Briggs of DePere, WI; nieces, nephews and numerous friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin on August 2, 1983; one sister, Olive Nustad; one brother, Thelmer Hagen; and one step-brother, Clarence Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church or the Bethel Home. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
