Doris Hysel, 85, of Viroqua, died Saturday, April 8, 2017. Doris was born in Viroqua on February 21, 1932 to Thomas and Leota (Parr) Lyons. She attended and graduated from West Lima High School. Doris was a baptized member of the Jehovahs Witness Congregation. She met Donald Hysel and they were married on June 21, 1954. Together they farmed near Elk Run for many years. In 1974 they moved to Morning Star and later to Fairview. Doris worked many years as a Dietician at Vernon Memorial Hospital. She also worked many years as a Reflexologist and made many friends there. She was a hard worker all her life. Doris enjoyed playing cards with her Daughters and with friends. Doris also the ability to put a smile on everyone's face whether it be through words or actions. She enjoyed being outdoors working with flowers. Doris is survived by: two daughters: Debbie Susan (Orlan) Holte, and Daylene (Jerry) Hanson; two granddaughters: Donna (Damien) Brown, and Danielle Holte; as well as other friends and family. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Donald; and two brothers: Wayne and Carl Lyons. Funeral Services with a Celebration of Life video will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home (123 W Decker St, Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Burial will follow in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1pm till the time of service at 2.
