Doris Irene (Berg) Ramsett, age 84 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 Doris Irene (Berg) Ramsett, age 84 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born on October 2, 1922 in Vernon County to Carl and Josephine (Olson) Berg. She was confirmed in 1935 at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Viroqua High School in 1940. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Arlo Ramsett and in 1943 they had a son, David. After Arlos death in 1946 Doris moved to Viroqua and clerked at the Tempte Variety Store for a time and then went to Luther College in Iowa. After graduating she moved to Beloit where she taught for 16 years. She was very active at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Beloit, and was currently a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Doris is survived by one sister, Sally Latimer of Viroqua; three nieces: Katy (Jim) Beno of Blue Ridge, GA; Sandy (Dean) Christian of Ames, Iowa; and Sheila Latimer of Minneapolis, MN. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband and son. Her brother, Alvin also preceded her in death in 1922. Doris was a faithful servant of the church and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday after 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
