Doris L. Johnson, age 84 of Westby and formerly of Coon Valley, died Friday, June 4, 2010. Doris L. Johnson, age 84 of Westby and formerly of Coon Valley, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Norseland Nursing Home. She was born on February 24, 1926 in the township of Hamburg, rural Chaseburg to Magnus and Ragna (Kraable) Stafslien. Doris graduated from Westby High School in 1943 and also the LaCrosse Technical College. On February 4, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence Albin Johnson at Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church; they had two daughters, Shirley and Barbara. Doris worked for Dr. V.A. Brenden for 30 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Vang Lutheran Church and the WELCA. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Frank) Johnson; son-in-law Ron (Diane) Christianson; three grandsons: Scott Johnson, Ryan (Nicole) Christianson and Stuart Johnson and great grandchildren, Abby & Anna Johnson & Gavin, Lacy & Sawyer Christianson. A brother Myland (Mavis) Stafslien and sister Beatrice Johnson She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albin, daughter Barbara Christianson, brother Jorgen and sister Myra. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Vang Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from noon until the time of service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
