Dorothy S. Johnson

Dorothy S. Johnson, age 95 of Milwaukee, died Sunday, March 27, 2011. Dorothy Serena Johnson, age 95 of West Allis, WI, died Sunday, March 27, 2011. She was born on February 15, 1916 at Pigeon Falls, WI to Edward and Jenny (Vosseteig) Erickson. She attended grade school in Pigeon Falls, graduated from Whitehall High School and graduated from Stout State University at Menominee, WI. She received an advanced degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dorothy was a public school teacher in Clear Lake, Baldwin and Medford and retired from the Elmbrook Schools. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in West Allis for many years. She is survived by three sisters: Edna Cleveland, Margaret Ruesch, and Arlene (Pete) Greathouse; one brother, Edward "Buddy" Erickson; nephews: David (Barbara) Greathouse of Sun Prairie Jim (Alisa) Ruesch, Jack (Gloria) Ruesch; niece, Heidi (Don) Schade of Weyauwega; special cousin Irene Kaiser; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on March 5, 1993; one sister, Sylvia who died on February 21, 1997; two brothers-in-law: Robert Cleveland and Warren Ruesch; and one nephew, Roy. Blessed be our memory of Dorothy Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main (Hwy 14) in Westby. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery, Comstock, WI.
