Douglas A. Gander

Douglas A. Gander, 67, of Readstown, passed away peacefully with family in Viroqua on October 31, 2026. He was born June 4, 1959, to Duaine Gander and the late Amanda (Barlow) Gander.

Doug graduated from North Crawford High School in Gays Mills, Wisconsin and he married Peggy Kettner in August of 1985. They gave birth to twins in 1987 and later divorced.

He worked for the North Crawford Schools for 30+ years. He loved to hunt and fish with family, children and grandchildren. His hobbies were woodworking and small engine repair. He loved all family related events. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in sports.

Douglas Gander is survived by his daughter, Ashley Gander (granddaughters Megan and Madison); his son, Jay (Tarrah) Gander (grandsons Brydel and Roman); his father, Duaine Gander; siblings, Mickey Gander, Karen Lee & Allen, Shawn & Ray Erickson, Ricky & Karen Gander, Patty Gander & Heath, Elaine & Adam Hemmersbach.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Milton & Gynith Gander, Cecil & Iris Barlow; his mother, Amanda (Barlow) Gander; and his sister, Lori (Gander) Kranenbuhl.

A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at a later date.
