Earl Van Minsel

Earl Albert Van Minsel, age 77, of Onalaska, died Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born on November 17, 1939 in Buffalo City, WI to August and Elsie (Doebert) Van Minsel. Earl served in the U.S. Army from November 1960 to November 1963 where he worked in road construction. Earl continued to work in construction following his service and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. On September 26, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marijean Hanson and they lived in Westby while their children were in school. They moved to Oak Creek, WI where they lived for 20 years prior to moving to Onalaska six years ago. In addition to his wife, Marijean, he is survived by two children: Dawn (Chuck) Driscoll of Edgar, WI and Dale (Wanda) Van Minsel of LaCrosse; four grandchildren: Tyler Van Minsel, Tiffany Van Minsel, Nathan Driscoll and Hallie Driscoll; three siblings: Howard (Arlene) Van Minsel of Spring Grove, MN, Kenneth (Carol) Van Minsel of Caledonia, MN and Arvilla Burmeister of Spring Grove, MN; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, and three brothers: Leo, Alan and Jack. Blessed be our memory of Earl Albert Van Minsel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred.
