Eddie A. Lunde, Jr. age 69 of Westby, died Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born on July 17, 1936 in Vernon Co. to Eddie W. and Anna (Hanson) Lunde. On June 4, 1955 Eddie married Elaine Burke and they had two children, Lori and Kevin. Eddie and Elaine were later divorced. Eddie was a lineman for Vernon Electric for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, trap shooting, and he loved to play cards. For many years he was a Jr. Ski Club coach and advisor; a past president of the Central U.S. Ski Association, F.I.S. Ski Judge, Lifetime member of Snowflake Ski Club, past Syttende Mai board member, past member of the Westby Fire Dept. and a member of the Westby Rod and Gun Club. As a F.I.S. judge, he traveled to Norway to judge the World Ski Flying, World University Games in Italy, World Cup in Japan, and many other tournaments within the United States. In 1995, Eddie married Carol Tway and they later divorced. He is survived by his two children: Lori (Blaine) Martine and Kevin Lunde of Westby; three grandchildren: Lindsay (Troy) Nelson, Jamie and Derek Lunde; siblings: Vivian Leum, Carole Larson, Roger (Dorothy) Lunde, Irvin (Mary) Lunde; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Cleo Lunde; brothers-in-law: Milton Leum and Lester Larson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Westby-Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church after 12:00 noon on Wednesday. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
