Edith Buros

WESTBY Edith Charlotte Genevive Buros, age 89 of Westby, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born on December 19, 1927 in the township of Jefferson, Vernon County, Wisconsin to Nordahl and Julia (Tollacson) Buros. She attended South Natwick rural school and graduated from Westby High School in 1945. Edith worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis for many years, retiring on April 1, 1995. She moved to Westby in June of 1996. Edith was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. She is survived by her sister, Grace Peterson; sister-in-law, Kathryn Buros; niece, Dorothy (Larry) Stoffregen and nephews: William (Teri) Buros and Carl (MaryPat) Peterson; seven great-nieces and nephews: Amanda (David) Temple, Dylan and Devi Stoffregen, Zach (Rebecca) Buros, Megan Buros, Leah and Eric Peterson; one great-great-nephew, Alistair Buros; cousin, Irvin (Carol) Buros; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucille Buros and Elizabeth "Betty" Linrud; brother, Walter Buros, and brothers-in-law, Henry Linrud and Roger Peterson. The family would like to thank the Vernon Memorial Hospice for all of their help and all the caring, compassionate employees of Norseland Nursing Home who made the last years so pleasant for Edith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor John Dumke will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery.
