Edith R. Lindvig, age 70, of Viroqua died Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Edith R. (Jacobson) Lindvig, age 70, of Viroqua, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born on March 27, 1938 to Hjalmer and Hilda (Tomtengen) Jacobson. Edith married Raymond Lindvig and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Viroqua VFW Auxiliary, and served as past VFW auxiliary District President, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Tomah V.A. Hospital. She worked at the Viroqua Food Pantry and also for KPB in Hillsboro, which became La Crosse Footwear, and then in Washington state, at Jansport, prior to moving back to Wisconsin.Edith is survived by her children: Vicki (Steve) Simpson of Stanwood, WA, Raymond (Kimberly) Lindvig II of Richland Center, Cheryl (Rick) Stussy of Muscoda, Gregory (Julia) Lindvig of Auburn, WA, Patrick (Gaile) Lindvig of Mauston, Leland Lindvig of Richland Center; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings: Sherman (Barbara) Jacobson of Fond du Lac, Leland Jacobson of Janesville, Betty (Alf) Erickson of Westby, Myra Schuler of St. Louis, Janette (Ronald) Fanta of Marshfield and Marilyn (Raymond) Solberg of Beloit; Many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Darrel Bolstad.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; two sons: Steven and Kevin; siblings: Alf Jacobson, Ernest Jacobson, Fredrick Jacobson, Steven Jacobson, David Jacobson, and Beverly Oium.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street, Hwy. 56 in Viroqua. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery, rural Westby. Friends may call from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.In Lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred.The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
