Edna "Cherral" Dohm

Edna "Cherral" (Wanless) Dohm of Madison, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 1st, 2022, surrounded by her loving family; she was 81 years old. "Cherral" was born on August 2nd, 1941, in Vernon County, WI to Wesley and Iza (Williams) Wanless. She loved animals, particularly her horse Sugar, which she rode often while growing up on the farm. She moved to Madison just after graduation from Readstown High School. She married Harold John Dohm on May 14th, 1966. They settled in Madison where "Cherral" was a homemaker and the two raised their five children: Mike, Rusty, Kelly, Stacy, and Darrin. "Cherral" returned to work part time once her children were older. She enjoyed gardening, raising various plants, was an exceptional bowler and won several trophies for her high scores. "Cherral" was an amazing mother and grandmother, often showing patience and compassion toward others. She had a unique sense of humor and always found something to laugh about, even during trying times. She made the most of every moment in life and always remained humble. She will truly be missed by all.

"Cherral" is survived by her husband: Harold Dohm; children: Rusty Dohm, Kelly (Brian) Haas, Stacy Lins (Dan Rothstein), and Darrin Dohm; grandchildren: Brandyn Mecum, Jay-Jay Dohm, Alexa (John) Denruiter, Josh Dohm, Anthony Haas, Lauren Lins, Joseph Haas, and adopted granddaughter, Deonna Dohm and her son, Numari; great-grandson, Jeremiah Lins; siblings, Julie Beeman and Larry Wanless; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Iza Wanless and son, Michael Dohm.

Our family would like to extend our appreciation to Heartland Hospice Services for their compassionate grief support, the entire team at Senior Helpers for providing excellent and quality care right up to the end.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Vosseteig Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Cherral will be laid to rest at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
