Edna Stove

Edna Stove, 89, of La Crosse, died Sunday, July 5, 2015. Edna Lucille Stove, 89, of La Crosse passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 5, 2015. Edna was born February 2, 1926 in Ferryville, WI, to Wilhelm and Elsa Marie (Bolstad) Fjelstad. She married Elmer A. Stove on January 11, 1951. They resided in Milwaukee, WI, for a short time before returning to the family farm in Seneca, WI. Edna was a talented seamstress and sewed custom drapery at Design Homes in Prairie du Chien for many years. They farmed until 1993 when they retired and moved to La Crosse, WI. Edna had a passion for gardening and took pride in her flower beds that were always beautiful even until her death. Edna had a strong work ethic and was very talented. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Elmer of 54 years; five brothers: Almen, Clifford, Willard, Arnold, and Juel Fjelstad; and three sisters: Othelia Johnson, Myrtle Fortun, and Arlene Bruckner. Edna is survived by two daughters: Claudette (Jim) Giblin of La Crosse, and Connie (James) Allen of Middleton, WI; three grandchildren: Jeffery (Jennifer) Bryan of La Crosse, Katie (Brandon) Thesing of La Crescent, MN, and Jonathan Bryan of La Crosse; six great-grandchildren: Carter, Mason, and Madison Bryan of Kelley, IA, and Olivia, Elise, and Ava Thesing of La Crescent, MN; sister, Mildred Fortun of La Crosse; sisters-in-law: Mildred Stove of Mt.Sterling, and Elaine Fjelstad of Viroqua, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Utica Lutheran Church. Pastor Nile Sandeen will officiate with burial to follow in the Utica Church Cemetery.
