Elaine Banta Bourland

Elaine (Banta) BourlandAugust 16, 2005 Elaine (Banta) Bourland, age 82 of 250 Park View Court in Viroqua, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. She was born in Crawford County on October 15, 1922. Elaine was one of 15 children born to Sherman and Esther (Hestetune) Banta. She married Charles Bourland in September of 1951. She spent most of her adult life in Michigan where she enjoyed life to the fullest along the shores of Whitmore Lake. She moved back to Viroqua 15 years ago. She was a member of Viroqua Eagles Auxiliary and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. She is survived by her two children, Geoffrey (Vicki) Banta of Viroqua and Karla (Paul Kram) Bourland of Hanover, NH; grandchildren: Keegan Banta Harris of Hanover, NH, Jeffrey (Gale) Banta of Naperville, IL, Steve (Cindy) Banta of Pensacola, FL, Brent (Sue) Banta of Wisconsin Rapids; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Thela Olson of Soldiers Grove, MaryLee Ivalis of South Milwaukee, Bill (Pauline) Banta of Fitchburg, Patti Schricker of Janesville, Nancy (Arlis) Buroker of Janesville, June (Bill) Morrison of Orlando, and Gary (Betty) Banta of Janesville. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, one infant brother, her other siblings: Robert Banta, Barbara Bilikis, Gretchen Olson, Ruth Adams, Fred Banta, Marge Nelson, and daughter-in-law Joyce (Maybee) Banta.
