Elaine Blakley, 88, of Viola, died Saturday, August 25, 2018. Elaine Blakley, age 88, wife of the late George Blakley of Viola, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Born June 12, 1930, in the Viola area, she was the only child of the late Clayton and Violet (Hill) Chadwick. Elaine grew up in the Viola area and graduated from Viola High School. She was united in marriage to George Blakley in 1948. They raised two children together. Family was always very important to her, and she always made sure to care for everyone. She worked part-time jobs including delivering hot lunches to schools, serving customers at the Corner Store in Viola, and she really enjoyed working at the Viola library. She was a member of the Viola United Methodist Church, she enjoyed traveling, flowers, gardening, puzzles, and living life to the fullest every day. She is survived by her son Allen and his wife Anne of Viola, WI and her daughter Theresa and her husband Gary of La Crosse, WI; three grandchildren Jeffrey and his wife Erin of Fitchburg, WI, Julie and her boyfriend Matt of Muskego, WI and A.J. and his girlfriend Lily of La Crosse, WI; and one great-granddaughter Mazzy of Muskego, WI. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Eddie; sisters-in-law Shelby, Trix, and Betty; and aunts Margaret and Esther. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Viola United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call during visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Viola Cemetery.
