Elaine Jaeger, 90, of Westby died Saturday, January 15, 2011. Elaine Jaeger, 90, of Westby died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. Elaine was born July 29, 1920 to Ludvig and Constance (Nottestad) Larson. She was raised on a farm on Rio Avenue in rural Westby and lived in the Westby area her entire life. On January 16, 1942 Elaine was united in marriage to Earl P. Jaeger. Elaine and Earl loved to take their motor home and go to Hatfield every summer. After retirement they traveled extensively throughout the U.S. with a group of camping friends. Elaine was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church her entire life. She was active in the Country Coon Prairie Preservation, Syttende Mai, Westby Historical Society, WCP Quilters, and Sons of Norway. She was one of the original employees of Westby Coop Credit Union, sat on the board of Norseland Nursing Home and was a 70 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Elaine is survived by her children Ellen LaBounta and Gary (Marie) Jaeger; grandchildren Angela (Jeff) Richardson, and Nick Jaeger; great-grandson Ryan Jaeger; brother-in-law Roger (Pat) Jaeger; sisters-in-law Irene Munson, Helen Running Phillips, and Ida Mae (Warren) Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl; son-in-law Gerald LaBounta; her parents Ludvig and Constance; and brother Richard (Hazel) Larson. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, in Westby. Friends may also call on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Westby and Country Coon Prairie Lutheran Churches, Westby First Responders, or a Charity of ones choice The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
