Eldon Erickson

Viroqua Eldon J. Erickson, age 93, died Sunday July, 31 2016 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby, WI. Eldon was born on November 7, 1922 in Viroqua, to Oscar and Jeanette (Dahl) Erickson. After attending White Pigeon Schools Eldon went on to serve his country during WWII. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theater. He came back and went to work in the automotive industry, first for General Motors, then Allis-Chambers, and the finally Chrysler. As a younger man he really enjoyed the outdoors especially if it included coon hunting and trapping. Later in life he like going to the casino to play those games of chance but just every now and then. But mostly Eldon loved walking, just to walk. He is survived by his sister Kathleen Haltrop, 14 Nieces and Nephews as well as numerous grand and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ralph Erickson, his sisters Irene Kansier and Delores Olson and 3 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donors choice. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday August 11, 2016 at 4:00P.M. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Viroqua. Friends may call during a visitation two hours prior from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
