Eleanore Sordahl, age 82 of Viroqua, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Eleanore Eva Sordahl, 82, of Viroqua, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Eleanore was born July 17, 1927 in LaFarge to Isaac and Ruby (Allen) Lawrence Sr. At the age of 17 she was united in marriage to Selmer Sordahl and they settled onto Ash Ridge where they farmed. Eleanore loved cooking, baking, canning and gardening. She also enjoyed singing and dancing. Surviving Eleanore are her children: Shirley Sordahl of Prairie du Chien, Martine Sordahl of Viroqua, Palmer Sordahl of Westby, Alvin (Betty) Sordahl of Westby, Carol Sordahl of Onalaska, Rachel (Brad) Griffiths of Hillsboro, Sheryl (Richard) Chaney of Viroqua, and Randy Sordahl of Viroqua; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings Marvin (Lee) Lawrence of Viroqua, Rudy Lawrence of Viroqua, Robert (Shirley) Lawrence of Madison, Marcel (Janie) Lawrence of Madison, Georgia (Norman) Bradley of Missouri and Doris Getter. She was preceded in death by her husband Selmer; her parents; siblings Gerald Lawrence, Isaac Lawrence Jr., Mary Tricky, and Lillian Widner; 2 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Elder Larry Mosher will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
