Elise K. Olson, age 86 of Westby, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Elise K. Olson, 86, of Westby died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital.Elise was born April 17, 1924 to Orville and Anna (Oium) Lunde in Westby, and graduated from Westby High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Lester V. Olson on April 8, 1944. In 1957 they moved to Milwaukee where Elise worked in the Accounting Department at Columbia Hospital for over 20 years. After retirement in the late 1980s they moved back to Westby.Elise was baptized and confirmed at Skogdalen Church. She was a member of Skogdalen WELCA, a member of the Ruth Circle, where she served as secretary, and was also a member of the Skogdalen Cookbook Committee. Elise is survived by children: Lynn (Alex) Amundson of Viroqua, Larry (Shirley) of Hales Corners, WI, Dean of Westby, Michael (Mary) of Colgate, WI; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law June (Terry) Denny. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester; and special sister Maline Stakston.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Skogdalen Lutheran Church. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service.The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Norseland Nursing Home and the 2 South nurses at Vernon Memorial Hospital and Hospice.Memorial contributions may be made to Skogdalen Lutheran Church.The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
