She is also survived by her maternal family in LaCrosse: her sister Beverly (Frank) Taylor and her beloved Aunt Lilah Temp and their families. So many friends will feel the same loss we feel including the Birthday Girls, quilting group, neighbors, the church office, hospital volunteers, school reading buddies and many more. Our Mom leaves a legacy of someone who was kind to everyone and was a true friend to many. She found great joy in the simplest of things. She touched many lives quietly through her faith and convictions. She would write to strangers to offer them encouragement in the face of hardship; her heart went out especially to children who were suffering or just needed a little bit of time and attention. She believed in God and the riches of faith. If you knew Betty, how did she touch your life? Did she stop and talk to you in a store? Did she give you stickers? Did she read a story to you? Did she send you a hand written note? Did she call you on the phone just to chat? Did you play cards with her? Your individual memories are a special memorial to Mom.
