Ellen F. Rumppe

Ellen F. Rumppe, age 48 of Viroqua, died Monday, January 4, 2010. Ellen Faye Rumppe, age 48 of Viroqua, died early Monday morning, January 4, 2010 at Vernon Memorial Hospital after a two year battle with cancer. She was born on November 28, 1961 to Charles T. and Myrna (VonHaden) Nicks. On January 30, 1982 she was united in marriage to Christopher Rumppe. Ellen had been a meat packer at D& W Meats until it closed. She was an avid crafter and crocheted for years. She also enjoyed cross stitch and gardening. Ellen loved pets of all kinds and especially dogs and cats. In addition to her husband, Chris, she is survived by one daughter, Erin (Adam) Wallin; one granddaughter, Madison Wallin; her mother, Myrna Lomas; her twin sister, Elaine (Larry) Howell; sister, Charlet Nicks (Fianc Shawn Esser); brother, Charles A. Nicks; many special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles T. Nicks, a brother, Charles R. Nicks; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Blessed be our memory of Ellen Faye Rumppe. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
