Elman Ole Helgeson

Elman "Ole" M. Helgeson, 82 of Genoa died on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Vernon Manor. Elman was born on September 13, 1926 to Ernest and Martha (Volden) Helgeson. He was united in marriage to Evelyn (Wallace) Henry on October 29, 1988. He was a farmer all of his life, served in the Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post #246 in Genoa. Elman was a member of the Bad Axe Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by children David (Barb) Henry, Dale (Chris) Henry, Elaine (Daniel) Gray, Eldred Henry, Patrick Henry, Harlan Henry; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Marlene Lothen; sister-in-law Marlene Helgeson; Niece Naomi Boss; nephews Arvid Lothen, Bradley Helgeson, Harley Helgeson, Arnie Helgeson, Ernie Helgeson and Kelly Helgeson. Elman is preceded in death by a grandson, his parents and one brother Armin. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Bad Axe Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Bad Axe Cemetery. Pastor Donald Greven will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
