Eloise J. Eide

Eloise J. Eide, age 78 of Viroqua, died Thursday, November 1, 2007. Eloise Jessie (Getter) Eide, age 78 of Viroqua , died on Thursday, November l, 2007 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. She was born in rural Viroqua, WI on December 24, 1928 to Wallace and Mildred (Jennings) Getter. She graduated from Viroqua High School and Vernon County Teachers College and taught one year at Ole Torger Rural School, before deciding upon farming with her husband for 46 years. Eloise married John "Buddy" Eide, Jr. on June 2, 1947 in Iowa. She was a member of Franklin Lutheran Church and in 2006 she helped spearhead the cookbook for the Visions Group. In later years she was a member of Experience Works and worked at the Vernon County Health Dept. and Human Services. Eloise is survived by four daughters: Ellen (Arden) Unseth of Viroqua, WI; Joyce A. Benson of Portage, WI; Janet (John) Reed of Viroqua, WI; Kimberly (Jeffrey) Stilwell of Portage, WI; grandchildren: Stephanie, Bjorn (Sharde) and Anders Unseth, Aaron (Angie) Mithum, Angela (Travis) Egge, Jess, Jared (Hayley), and Lydia Reed, Jordan (Linda), Nicholas and Katelyn Stilwell; great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Abigail, and Jackson Reed, Anelise Egge, and Aiden Unseth; brother-in-law: Richard Larson Hubertus, WI; sister: Sharon (Jim) Staniforth of Oregon, WI; sisters-in-law Mary Getter, Lawrence, KS; and Pearl Knudson of Viroqua WI; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John on November 8, 1993; sisters: Evlynne Olson and Sandra Larson; brother: Russell Getter. She enjoyed her travels to Kansas to visit her brother Russell and his family.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 11:00 a. m. at Franklin Lutheran Church, rural Soldiers Grove, WI Rev. Peter Beckstrand will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 West Decker Street (Hwy 56 in Viroqua. (Due to road construction, please use the parking lot entrance block south of Hwy 56.) A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 10:00 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
