She was born February 21, 1918 in Lead, South Dakota to Bert and Edith (Erickson) Cowan. She was united in marriage to Theodore Pittman and he preceded her in death. Elsie moved to the Viroqua area in 1991. She is survived by 1 son, Ted (LeRoy) Pittman of Viroqua, her son-in-law, Lee Goldy of Park City, Montana, 6 grandchildren, Sue (Dan) Heitman of Viroqua, Jeanne (Mike) Lawless of Arlington, Va., Summer Goldy of Pennsylvania, Ted Goldy of Nebraska, Wynter Goldy of Idaho and Nicholas Goldy of Montana, 9 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Bill Cowan of Wyoming, a sister-in-law, Edna Cowan of Idaho and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Goldy. As per Elsies wishes there will be no services. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family
