Esther Marie Hill

Esther Marie Hill, age 97, of Viola, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She was born December 20, 1922 to the late Otto and Anna (Mineard) Fuller. She worked hard on the family farm. She married Edmund Hill on October 23, 1941, in La Farge. Esther and Edmund purchased a farm and she worked for many years keeping it going. Esther was a wonderful cook and always had plenty of homemade candy in good supply for the grandchildren at Christmas. She was known for her wonderful homemade bread, buns, and jams. She also enjoyed the beauty of flowers and gardening. Her home was surrounded by flowerbeds. In their later years, Edmund and Esther worked for a cattle ranch called Babson Farms. She had a love for her family and horses. Survivors include her children: Bud (Dee) Hill; three grandchildren: Junior (Penny) Hill of Lancaster, WI, James Hill of Menominee, WI, Jason (Judith) Hill of Prescott, WI, 10 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; special nephew Keith (Lynda) Beatty; her cousin who was more like a sister, Emily Berberich; and other relatives Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edmund Hill; two siblings: Agnes Beatty and Jim Fuller; and seven sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St. in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Esther will be laid to rest in the Viola Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
