Eunice Sorenson, age 91 of Westby, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Eunice C. Sorenson, age 91 of Westby, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born on July 26, 1923 to Elmer and Lenora (Tomtengen) Leum. She attended the Leum School. Eunice had the distinction of being Vernon Countys first Tobacco Queen. She was married to Ted Sorenson. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1968. Eunice worked at Felixs, Nelson Agri Center, and Viking Inn, all in Viroqua, and later at The Fashion Cellar in Westby. Eunice was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she was in charge of the kitchen for many years. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway, American Legion Auxiliary, Red Hat Society and the Norseland Nursing Home Auxiliary. She is survived by her five children: Keith (Linda) Sorenson, Kevin Sorenson (Deb Zimmerman), Kent Sorenson, Kay Mueller, Kenric Sorenson (Dee Olson); her step-son, David (Carol) Sorenson; six grandchildren: Kenna, Kelsey, Kassi, Kelly, Mason, and Olivia; four great-grandchildren: Kalli, Kaden, Kolten, and Amilia; three siblings: Eleanor Ekern, Olga Gossett and Gilbert (Anna) Leum; brother-in-law, Norman Oftedahl; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and Ted, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Otis, Milton, Ralph, Martin, Lloyd, Mary Ann Oftedahl; a grandson, Cole Mueller and step-daughter, Rebecca Glunz. Blessed be our memory of Eunice Sorenson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor John Dumke will officiate with burial in the Our Saviors Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.
