Eva Struxness

Eva Struxness, age 89 of Westby, died October 15, 2006 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby, WI. Eva was born in Christiana Township on May 28, 1917 to Joseph and Ida (Hentschel) Dahlen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Cashton. She was united in marriage to Stanley Melvin Struxness on March 15, 1941 by the Reverend M. Egge at Our Saviors Lutheran Churchin Westby. The couple spent their married life farming in the Westby area. Eva was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie WELCA and the Deborah Circle. She was a very good cook. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Eva is survived by her son, DeVerne Struxness of Westby; her sister, Ruth Hoff of Westby; one brother-in-law, Robert Nestigen; three sisters-in-law: Evelyn Dahlen, Joan Dahlen, and Edna Dahlen; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her brothers: Norman, James, Arthur, and Ralph; her sisters-in-law: Myrtle Dahlen, Ethel Rude, LuEtta Strangstalien, and Vivian Stefferud; and her brothers-in-law: Otis Struxness, Blaine Struxness, and Luell Hoff. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 South Main, Hwy 14 Westby; and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
