Evalyn Sherry

Evalyn Sherry, 92 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Evalyn T. Sherry, age 92 of Viroqua, died early Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born on November 29, 1919 in Utica township, Crawford, Co., Wisconsin to Andrew and Icaphena (Olson) Aspenson. On November 26, 1958 she was united in marriage to Verdel "Tiny" Sherry. They lived in the Town of Jefferson, rural Viroqua where they farmed. Evalyn was a social worker for Vernon County, retiring in January of 1983. Evalyn is survived by three sisters-in-law: Mary Aspenson, Ruth Aspenson and Charmaine Aspenson; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Verdel "Tiny"; eight brothers: Earl, Everett, Amos, Vincent, Norval, Gerald, LeRoy and Wayne; two sisters: Mildred Raaum and Alvera Aspenson; Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastors Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday after 12 noon at the church. In Lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Bethel Home, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, or Vernon Memorial Hospice House. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
