Evelyn Dahl

Evelyn S. Dahl, 89, of Viroqua died on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 Evelyn Dahl, age 89 of Viroqua, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua, Wisconsin. She was a resident at Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born August 18, 1924 to Oscar and Clara (Holen) Iverson. Evelyn married Martin Dahl January 21, 1942. They farmed together on Irish Ridge and retired in Viroqua. Evelyn is survived by her children, Beverly (Bert) Peterson, Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Dianne (Robert) Mikkelson of Viroqua, Wisconsin. She is also survived by eight Grandchildren: Barron (Jeannie) Peterson, Beth Ann (Steve) Lamoree, Michelle Fauske, Tania Westaby, Shane Mikkelson, Todd Brudos, Robyn Mikkelson, Michael (Becky) Brudos; and ten Great-Grandchildren: Brittany Fauske, Katelyn Fauske, Miranda Wally, Haley Fauske, Braedon Peterson, Tatum Brudos, Gaven Mikkelson, Landon Westbay, Benjamin Peterson, and Josie Brudos. Evelyn is also survived by one sibling, Thelma Peterson of Beloit, Wisconsin. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Sandra (Garry Brudos), a son Ryan (Jean) Dahl, a son Randall Dahl, and daughter-in-law Jean Dahl. Five siblings: Mabel, Olga, Myrtle, Inga, and Marvin. Evelyn was extremely proud of her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandparent. She enjoyed various hobbies such as music, poetry, and collecting pictures. Her cherished collection of pictures have provided her family with beautiful memories. She also was a huge football fan. We will all miss her great strength and determination. Evelyns family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Bethel Home and the Vernon Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care of our Mother and Grandmother. God Bless you all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby. Pastor Paul Tjelta will officiate with burial in the Bethel Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St., (Hwy, 56) in Viroqua from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
