Evelyn E. Miller, age 87 of Cashton, died June 9, 2006 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. Evelyn was born January 25, 1919 in Dell, Wisconsin to Nels and Alma (Goplin) Holtet. She was united in marriage to Marvin Miller on August 24, 1940. They farmed in the Cashton area and Evelyn loved gardening. She was known for her home-farm cooking. Evelyn made teddy bears with movable joints and she also enjoyed quilting. In 1986 she was honored with the Best of the Show Award at Syttende Mai with her quilt. Marvin and Evelyn retired from farming in 1969 and loved to go fishing and camping. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Marvin and their four children: Gary (Mary) Miller of Cashton; Susan Miller of Lafayette, IN; Bruce (Marjorie) Miller of Warrens; and Danny (Lindy) Miller of Onalaska. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Mark, Amy, Rhonda, Heather, Rachel, Sam, and Kristopher; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother: Waylen Holtet of Cashton, and two sisters: Clara (Harley) May of Westby, and Nina McDaniel of Cashton. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Otto, Palmer, and Milton Holtet; her sister, Ethel Perkins; two grandchildren, Bryan and Kellie. Blessed be her memory. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 South Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 6 p.m. and from 12 noon 1:00 on Monday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
