Evelyn F. Ellefson, age 94 of La Crosse and formerly of Viroqua died Thursday, July 26, 2007 Evelyn F. Ellefson, age 94 of La Crosse and formerly of Viroqua died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at her home. Evelyn was born July 26, 1913 in the Township of Harmony, Vernon County, WI to Nels and Anna (Quain) Volden. Evelyn married Gordon Thompson and they farmed west of Viroqua. She also worked for Dahl & Dahl Clothing Store in Viroqua. Gordon preceded her in death. She married Ervin Ellefson and they lived in Baraboo, Stoughton and then La Crosse, He also preceded her in death. Evelyn is survived by five children: Avonelle (Richard) Dawson of Sun Lakes, AZ; Gloria (Chris) Larson of Great Falls, MT; Amelia Dustin and Fiance Robert Lewison of Onalaska,WI; Lewis (Shirley) Thompson of La Crescent, MN; Roger Thompson of Clinton, WI ; daughter-in-law: Joan Thompson of Clinton, WI. She is also survived by three step- children: Daniel (Debi) Ellefson of Sun Prairie, WI; Jacquelyn Mohrman of Bloomer WI; Joan Ellefson of Madison, WI; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands : Gordon Thompson and Ervin Ellefson; seven sisters: Olga Moe, Lila Pulver, Martha Helgeson, Caroline Larson, Mae Powell, Hilda Freyhoff and Gladys Schmidt; two brothers: Norman and Kenneth Volden; son-in-law David Dustin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Roger Grow and Kathy Ingbritsen will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street in Viroqua. Due to road construction please use the parking lot entrance block south of Hwy. 56. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bad Axe Lutheran Church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
