Evelyn G Stevenson, 81, of Ferryville died July 30, 2010. Evelyn Stevenson, 81, of rural Ferryville passed away peacefully Friday, July 30, 2010, at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born December 13, 1928, daughter of Fred and Edith (Schied) Warren in the Retreat area, where she spent all of her childhood. Evelyn in her teenage years spent her time working and caring for people around the area. On March 3, 1948, she married Ivan Stevenson from Buck Creek Ridge, Ferryville. She and Ivan farmed for many years and later moved down in the valley of Buck Creek. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, cross stitching and playing around with her flowers. She and Ivan also enjoyed dancing and playing cards with area neighbors and relatives. Evelyn is survived by her children: Wyman (Linda) of Onalaska, Terry (Marcia) of Ferryville, Brian (Dawn) of Prairie du Chien, Debra (Dennis) Troendle of Lansing, IA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother Dean (Diane) Warren of Westby. She will be joining her husband Ivan; her parents; and siblings Esther Springborn, Geraldine Seils, Avery Warren and Raymond Warren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Utica Lutheran Church. Pastor Anna Sorenson will officiate with burial in Utica Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Dommersnaes-Bertram Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
