Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Johnson, December 4, 2005. Evelyn Johnson, age 92 of Viroqua and formerly of LaFarge, died Sunday, December 4, 2005. Evelyn was born August 21, 1913 to Martin and Kathrina (Thoreson) Bergh of rural Viroqua. She was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a long time member of the WELCA. She married Edwin Johnson February 8, 1932 and the couple farmed on Asbury Ridge. Evelyn served as the clerk for the school board for the Asbury Rural School District. Later she worked at the Bethel Home for 10 years. Evelyn is survived by her children: Raymond (Terry) Johnson of Villa Park, IL; Alice (George) Floss of Iowa City, IA; Katie (Peter) Hurley of Calabasas, CA; Arnold (Donna) Johnson of Hillsboro; and son-in-law, Delbert Biddison of Elmhurst, IL. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Dawn, David, Delbert, Douglas, Kevin, Joshua, James, Jason, JoLynn, Shawn, Raymond, Jammie, Robert, Cody, Annie, Josh, and Jamal; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; her daughter, Esther Biddison; and her siblings: Helen Ruth, Hans Luther, and Myra.
