Fern Leola JonesMay 13, 2005 Fern Leola Jones, 76, died in her sleep Friday morning at 5:00 am on May 13, 2005 at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home in Soldiers Grove, WI. She was a resident of Beloit, WI for many years prior to residing at the nursing home in Soldiers Grove due to various ailments. She was born October 20, 1928 in Readstown, WI to Sherman and Hazel Townsend Buroker. She was employed by Freeman Shoe Company for over 20 years and Adtec for over 10 years before retiring in 1991. She loved sports and was an avid Packer and Cubs fan. But, her favorite sport was NASCAR racing and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon and her favorite color was orange. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Michael) Barbour of Macon, GA; her son Sherman (Judy) Buroker of Beloit; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her sister Wilma (Albert) Everson of Soldiers Grove, WI. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eva VanFleet and Gaye Shelby, and her brother Leonard Buroker. There will be a memorial service at the Floral Lawns Chapel at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 officiated by Galen Morrison of the United Church of God. A private burial for family members will be at a later date. There will no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is assisting the family.
