Floyd A. Nedland, age 86 of Viroqua, died Saturday, August 7, 2010. Floyd A. Nedland, age 86 of Viroqua, died Saturday evening, August 7, 2010 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. He was born on August 9, 1923 to Albert and Faustine (Larson) Nedland. Floyd served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in Germany and Belgium. On November 22, 1951 he was united in marriage to Irene Nelson. He was a farmer and life member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was a talented musician. He enjoyed singing/songwriting and playing the guitar, and had performed in area churches. Floyd enjoyed fishing and picnics as well as the annual family trip to the apple orchards. He was an avid Packer fan. He was especially proud of his family and loved his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by one son, Wayne (Becky) Nedland of Viroqua; six grandchildren: Brent (Chelsey) Nedland, Trisha (Ryan) Peterson, Lance Nedland, Eric Nedland, Emily Nedland and Ryan Nedland; six great-grandchildren: Isabella, Olivia and Devin Nedland, Evan and Caleb Peterson, and Gavin Nedland; daughter-in-law, Debra Nedland and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Blayne G. Nedland; his siblings: Eloise Munson, Harvey Nedland, Irene Viner, LaMont Nedland, Fern Myhre and Donald Nedland.Blessed be our memory of Floyd Nedland. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Pastor Kris Fahey will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call on Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
