Fr. James H Miller

Father James H. Miller, 86, of Norwalk, died Saturday, August 22, 2015. The Rev. James H. Miller, age 86 of Norwalk, died early Saturday morning, August 22, 2015. He was born on July 6, 1929 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wis. to Amory and Amy (McCormick) Miller. As a child he moved with his family from Wisconsin to California. He had been an Episcopalian Priest and in August of 1965 he converted to the Roman Catholic Church and was ordained a Priest in 1968, and had served in the LaCrosse Diocese for many years. He is survived by his sister, Winifred Saunders of Dallas, Texas; nieces, nephews, friends and brother priests of the LaCrosse Diocese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Amory Miller, Jr.; two sisters: Mary Frances Shoys and Betsy Miller; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Saunders and Charles "Charlie" Shoys. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Norwalk on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with burial in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Norwalk. A visitation/wake will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. In lieu of flowers and plants, Fr. Miller has requested memorials be given to The St. Josephs Priest Fund, Roman Catholic Diocese of LaCrosse, 3710 E. Ave. South, LaCrosse, Wi 54601. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes are serving the family of Fr. James Miller and the LaCrosse Diocese.
