Frances L. Regan

Frances L. Regan, age 86 of DeSoto, died on March 26, 2009. Frances L. Regan, age 86, of DeSoto died on March 26, 2009 in North Carolina. She was born on March 22, 1923 in La Crosse, Wis. to Frank and Miranda (Allen) Rimmert. She graduated in 1942 from Central High School in La Crosse. On November 27, 1948 she married Francis (Bud) Regan and they lived in DeSoto where they owned and operated the River Lounge for more than 20 years. Frances was a member of the Thomas Rooney VFW Post 1530 auxiliary in La Crosse, and was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church in DeSoto and later St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa. She is survived by her three children: Ginger (Stanley) Wilkinson of Mount Holly, N. C., Duane Regan of Waukesha, Wis., and John (Charlene) of Phippsburg, Colorado; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Frank (Barbara) Rimmert of Stoughton, Wis., and George Rimmert of Ofallon, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis on July 16, 1982; one grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa, Wis. Father Roy Witucki will celebrate the mass with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in LaCrosse. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main Street (Hwy 82) in DeSoto. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
