Freda R. Gorman, age 88 of Viroqua, died Monday, February 2, 2009. Freda R. Gorman, age 88, of Viroqua, died on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born on August 7, 1920 to Hans Benjamin and Mary (Natwick) Hoffland in Crawford County, Wisconsin. She attended school in Crawford and Vernon Counties. She was united in marriage to Richard Gorman on August 28, 1937 and they celebrated over 62 years of marriage. Together they farmed for many years. Freda enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and loved to square dance. Freda moved to Maplewood assisted living in February of 2007, and from December of 2007 she was a resident of the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She is survived by two daughters: Janice Timmons of Tomah, Wis. And Kay (Roger) Zogg of Viroqua; five grandchildren: Robert (Julie) Moore of Indianola, Iowa, Randy (Ann) Moore of Tomah, Wis., Karla (Jim) Schommer of Ellsworth, Wis., Tim (Jenny) Zogg of Viroqua, Mark (Ann) Zogg of Racine, Wis.; seven great-grandchildren: Bryan and Ryan Moore, Molly and Jess Zogg, Max, Sophie and Ruby Zogg; sister, Doris Iannitelli of Rhode Island; brother, Donald Hoffland of Arizona; brother-in-law, Charles Mills of Viroqua; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard on February 14, 2000; five brothers: one in infancy, George, Marcus, Howard and Robert; three sisters: Grace Gorman, Ruth Oliver and Betty Mills; son-in-law, William Timmons.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Margaret Eiben Hoversten will officiate with burial in the Bethel Cemetery, Rural Viroqua. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
