Fred Clements, age 71 of Viroqua, died Thursday, June 3, 2010. Frederick M. Clements, age 71 of Viroqua, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Readstown, WI on January 9, 1939 to Harold and Freda (Kellogg) Clements. On April 4, 1959 he was united in marriage to Madeline Worman. Fred was a meat cutter for 47 years, working at: Super Valu, Ted and Freds, Jubilee and Village Market. He retired in 2004. Fred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua and was baptized and confirmed there as an adult. He loved to "putz" at The Land and enjoyed hunting and looking for the "big buck". He collected hub caps and his garage reflects his large collection. In addition to his wife, Madeline, he is survived by his three children: Debra (Steve) Clark of Viroqua, Lisa (David) Runice of Viroqua, and Jon (Barbara) Clements of Russellville, AR; five grandchildren: Jakob Clark, Kirsten and Jared Runice, and Isabelle and Madeline Clements; one sister, Shirley (Ray) Mickelson of Readstown; one brother, Donald (Marie) Clements of Readstown; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Phyllis and her husband Maynard Ostrem; sister-in-law, Carole Solverson; brother-in-law, Ralph Wangen; and his mother and father-in-law: Virgil and Ida Worman. Blessed be our memory of Fred Clements. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Monday after 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials to the Relay for Life would be appreciated.
