Garry Francis Moran, age 65, passed away on July 15, 2024, in West Prairie, Wisconsin after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on September 18, 1958, in Southport, Australia, Garry was an adventurous free spirit who lived his life to the fullest.
After graduating high school in Australia, Garry completed a trade apprenticeship that paved the way for his successful career as a mason. He ran his own masonry business while working full time as a foreman in the construction industry in Chicago. He took great pride in the mastery of his craft, but his true passion was his hobby farm, which he tended to with his beloved late wife, Linda. Garry was an avid beekeeper and found joy in the simplicity of caring for his garden and bees alongside his faithful canine companion and “#1 Daughter,” Molly.
In his youth, Garry's love for adventure took him across the world to surf and explore, leading him to San Francisco, where he met and married Linda. They relocated to Las Vegas and then to Chicago, where they raised their family before finally settling in the Driftless area of Wisconsin. Garry loved to share his stories and took great joy in his friendships. Many knew him from the farmers market where he sold his honey and garlic.
Garry's memory is carried on by his twin children, Battle and Jasmine Moran, who inherited their father's tenacity. He is also survived by his brother, Darcy Moran, and his cherished dog, Molly. Garry was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Moran.
Garry's life was an adventure, both for himself and those who he brought along for the ride. He will be deeply missed.
