Garry P. Molstad, age 62of LaFarge, died at his home on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 Garry P. Molstad, age 62of LaFarge, died at his home on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 He was born on October 4, 1944 at the Grandview Hospital in LaCrosse, WI to Lester and Mary (Bina) Molstad. He attended Big Creek Rural School near Sparta, Jefferson Elementary in LaCrosse, Peckham Junior High in Milwaukee and graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. He attended Radio Operator School in South Carolina and Diesel Truck School in Sauk City, WI. Garry had served in the Army and had been stationed in Giessen, Germany for three years. On August 20, 1966 he was united in marriage to Jolene I. Blanchette of Milwaukee, WI. Garry had farmed for 11 years, drove semi for 28 years, owned a tavern for 3 years and periodically bought, remodeled and sold realty. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church on Salem Ridge. Garry loved his family, children and grandchildren. His value as a true friend to many was a rare gift from God. He enjoyed nature and its tranquility. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, Jolene, Garry is survived by two sons, Dennis of Westby and Phillip (Jenny) Molstad of Holmen; one daughter, Renee (Wayne) Valk of Onalaska; seven grandchildren; four brothers: James (Mary) of Westby, Dean (Barbara) of Sussex, John (Debra) of Ontario, and Wayne (Elli) of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church on Salem Ridge, rural LaFarge. Pastor George Shick will officiate with burial in the Big Creek Cemetery, rural Sparta. Friends may call on Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Sunday after 12:00 noon. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
