Gary Fred Moore

Gary Fred Moore, age 71, of De Soto, WI, found peace in the early morning of July 14, 2024. Born November 28th, 1952, to Arthur and Loraine (nee Strack) Moore in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Washington High School in 1970, and served in the California Ecology Corps from 1970 to 1974. He married and was blessed with a daughter and son. Eventually he moved to West Allis, WI. Gary was a cabinet maker by trade. He was a creative man with artistic abilities. An avid joke teller, with a great sense of humor. He could talk to anyone.

His whole life he dreamed of living in the country somewhere near water. He made that happen in 1999. He saved enough to buy land with a stream running through it, in De Soto, WI. Eventually he was able to build his home where he was content to live the rest of his life enjoying God's beauty surrounding him. He loved sharing his “little piece of heaven on earth” with family and friends.

Gary loved riding his 1990 Harley, Heritage Softail. He liked the freedom it brought. He enjoyed the scenery and the many places it took him.

He loved his dog Bodhi. Bodhi brought him so much joy and companionship. The two were inseparable.

Gary is survived by his two children: Jessica (Darryl) Fiedler and Joshua Moore; grandchildren, Jordan Moore and Matthew Davis; siblings, Arthur (Debra) Moore and Lois Pocian; nieces and nephews: Mac and Mitchell Moore, Crystal (Jason) Survis, Casey Moore and Tonya Pocian.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to a charity of your choice in Gary’s memory.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. For those unable to attend, the memorial service will be livestreamed on Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory's Facebook page.
