Gary Lee Vance

Gary Lee Vance, age 67, of Viola, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was born May 20, 1954, in Maryland to Charles and Alice (Atkinson) Vance. Following high school graduation, he met Patsy Murray of La Crosse, and they married on September 17, 1977. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. Gary was a mechanic at various locations in the area and enjoyed fixing cars at his home. He had a passion for hunting, motorcycles, and spending time with his family. He had a special love for his grandchildren, and they will cherish the time spent with grandpa. He enjoyed trying his luck with lottery tickets, watching Packer games, and coloring. Survivors include his wife, Patsy; three children, Lee (Amber) Vance, Roger Vance, and Terri (fiancée Tyler Daniels) Halverson; his grandchildren, Nakeeshia, Jordan, Brandon, and Leann; his siblings, Linda (Robert) Poyner, Valerie Hall, James (Laurie Blackwell) Vance, Jeff Vance, and Brenda (Richard) Vance Pavlouvich; his sister-in-law, Robin Vance; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brandon Vance; his brother, Chuck Vance; and his sister, Cheryl Hessling. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
