Gary Wayne Simonson

Gary Wayne Simonson, age 64, of Westby, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born on February 20, 1960, to Laura Hines and Gene Simonson. Gary served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service, he worked at La Crosse Footwear and Industrial Heat Transfer in Coon Valley, where he retired from. He married Lisa Stellner and they later divorced but remained longtime friends. Gary adopted her son, Jeremy Simonson, who was his only child. In the years they lived together, they enjoyed camping, watching the Packers, and went on many vacations.

Survivors include his son, Jeremy (Amy) Simonson; his siblings, Sharon (Jim) Kraft, Bobbie (Jodi) Hines, Sheila (Jim) Vanderploeg, Jim (Lara) Hines; several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Coon Valley Veterans Memorial Park. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
