Gavin James Dums

Gavin James Dums, 8 month old son of Ben and Emily (Glass) Dums of Viola, died at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester where he had been hospitalized since his birth with respiratory problems. Gavin was born three months premature on August 9, 2005 at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. He weighed one pound nine ounces at his birth. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Barbara and Gerald Glass of Readstown; paternal grandparents: Lori and Francis Dums of Westboro, WI; maternal great-grandmothers, Ruth Glass of Readstown and Virginia Sanford of Viola; paternal great-grandparents, Jim and Bernice Koch of Westboro, WI; three aunts: Elizabeth and Natalie Glass and Rebecca Dums; one uncle Michael Glass. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfathers, Roy Glass and Charles Sanford; and paternal grandparents, Helen and Donald Dums. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St. (Hwy 56) in Viroqua with Pastor John Gannon officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola is serving the family.
