Geneva E. Larson, age 86 of Westby, died Monday, January 28, 2008. Geneva E. Larson, age 86 of Westby, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born November 23, 1921 in the Town of Coon, Vernon County, WI to Melvin and Ella (Berger) Solberg. She graduated from Westby High School. She married Chester Larson on December 31, 1941 in Westby. She worked for Vernon Memorial Hospital for 33 years. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby where she was the church organist for many years. Geneva was a very good lefsa maker, meatball maker and made an excellent hot fudge sundae. She was a good cook. Geneva is survived by her children: Rachel (Raymond) Johnsen of Westby, WI, Rod (Lil) Larson of Eau Claire, WI, Nathan (Marlys) Larson of Viroqua, Jonathan (Jeanne) Larson of Westby, and Gretchen (Everett) Jenks of Franksville, WI; 13 grandchildren: Renee Johnsen, Richard (Becky) Johnsen, Cole Larson, Mathew (Melody) Larson, Robyn (Jason) Clancy, Jana (Joshua) Vorvick, Kyle (Amara) Larson, David Larson, Simeon (Jennifer) Larson, Jesse (Elizabeth) Larson, Kris (Michelle) Jenks, Carson (Julie) Jenks, Russell (Elizabeth) Jenks; 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: Clayton Solberg of Waupun, WI; one sister Lois Hogan; one brother-in-law: Arthur (Fern) Larson of Sparta. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester on January 12, 2000; two sisters: Bernice and Evelyn. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethesda LutheranBrethren Church in Westby. Pastor Lindell Quam will officiate with burial in the BethesdaCemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
