Geneva Wilson

Geneva Wilson, age 93, of La Farge passed away Monday, July 18, 2022. She was born February 27, 1929, to the late Ernest and Matilda (Melvin) Lawrence. Geneva attended and graduated from the La Farge High School. After schooling, she married Alvin Wilson at the Dell United Methodist Church. Together they farmed on Maple Ridge and raised their three children. When Geneva and Alvin retired from farming, they moved into town where they continued to live in the La Farge community. Geneva had a great passion for quilting and sewing. Everybody in her family has gotten a quilt or two from her, especially when there was a newborn baby in the family. Geneva is survived by her three children: Mary Hines of Sortova, Panama and her son, Alan; Martha Wilson and her children: Leslie Georgeson, Mariah Nicholson, Katrina Hammer, Toni Erickson, and Nick Nicholson; and Sarah (Fred) McDonald and their children, Adam and Angela; her sisters: Joann (Al) Servais, Opal Laufenberg, and Geraldine (Albert) Olson; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; grandson, Bryan McDonald; her siblings: Koletta (Durward) Steinmetz, Maxine Lehn, Aletta (Roy) Mickelson, and Raymond Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the La Farge Area Ambulance in Geneva’s memory. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the La Farge United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
