Genevieve "Genny" Larry, 77, of Viroqua, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011 Genevieve "Genny" Larry, 77, of Viroqua, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. Genevieve Alice Pearson was born in Ione, WA to Bernard and Alice Pearson on April 10, 1934. Genevieve was employed by the City of Viroqua as a school crossing guard and also was the Westby meal site manager for several years. Genny was a member of Viroqua Assembly of God church as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and the womens ministries and jail ministries. Genny enjoyed spreading Gods word. Genny was involved with senior citizens for several years and was a member of the Sentimental Singers. Genny was a spiritual and wonderful mom, enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and watching many sporting events. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Larry; daughter Sara Jane; grandson Todd Larry; son-in-law Bradford Leatherberry; her parents; and sisters Birdie (Leo) Brittian and Barbara Schnitzler. She is survived by 9 children: Stephen (Jeanie) Larry, Rebecca Wangen, Bernard (Carolyn) Larry, Tom Larry, Mary (Wayne) Arnold, Paul Larry, Clarissa (Greg) Romskog, Susan Chase, DeeAnna (Jeffrey) Anderson; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Wearing; and many cousins nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St, in Westby. Burial will be held later in the afternoon at Angelo Cemetery in Sparta. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
