Genevieve Holcombe

Genevieve Holcombe, age 98, of Readstown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She was born on September 26, 1923, on her family farm in rural Readstown to Harold and Pearl (Glass) Jacobson. She married Charles Holcombe on August 28, 1943. Genevieve was a proud farm wife and enjoyed milking cows and all that comes with operating a farm. She had her own upholstery business for many years. She was an avid bowler, collected carnival glass, enjoyed tending her gardens, and loved time spent with her family. Survivors include her children: Gloria Edgar of Readstown, Gary (Mary) Holcombe of Superior, Stan Holcombe of Readstown, and Vicki (Terry) Friday of Elkhart Lake; her sister, Juanita “Nita” (Paul) Solverson of Viroqua; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her son, Steve; and two brothers, John and Ken Jacobson. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
