George Raymon Smith, 92, of Soldiers Grove, formerly of Bell Center died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Sannes Skogdalen in Soldiers Grove. George Raymon was born on June 15, 1921 in Steuben,WI the son of Joe and Cleone (Daly) Smith. He was united in marriage to Evalyn (Sarles) Smith and they had three sons. He lived most of his life in Freeport, IL where he was a factory worker and a tree trimmer which he continued to do well into his late 70s. George Raymon enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and the outdoors and spending time with his family. George Raymon is survived by his son, Stan Smith of Gays Mills, WI; and grandsons: Dave (Julie) Smith, Jim Smith, Jay (Brenda) Smith, Mike (Chrissy) Stratton, Joe (Katrina) Smith, Ty Stratton, Jason (Crystal) Cox; and granddaughters: Teon Smith, Sarah Smith, Billie Joe (Carl) Siegenthaler, Tanya (Barry) Batturd, Kim (Steve) Baker, Trisha (Dennis) Bunts; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evalyn; sons: Ray (Pee Wee) Smith, and Dean Smith. George Raymon will be missed by his family and friends who cherish their memories of him. A visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:00 am will be held Friday, August 16th at Vosseteig Funeral home in Gays Mills, WI with burial in the Bell Center Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the Bell Center Community Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills with burial to follow in Bell Center Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday morning at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
