Gerald “Jerry” Walker, age 91, of La Farge, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Vernon Memorial Hospital. He was born to Christina (Svidak) and Melvin Walker on March 21, 1935. Jerry was united in marriage to Sharon A. Geddes on March 14, 1959, in Valley, WI.
To all that knew him, Jerry was a simple, hardworking, family man. He worked for Jeffers/LF Truck Center for over 40 years, where he was known for his expertise as a diesel mechanic. He was also an accomplished, self-taught carpenter/plumber/electrician until his sight was stolen from him and he had to accept the new life that he was given, taking away many things that he so enjoyed.
Jerry could glide his way around a dance floor and had wonderful memories made with his dance family, as a long-time member of the CMA. It was a devastating blow when he realized in his mid-80's that his dancing days were over. He loved his Old Time Country music and listened to it right up til the end.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Sharon; his parents; his siblings, Cletus Walker, Kenneth Walker, Lelia Liegel; and his brother-in-law, Everett Caldwell.
Jerry will be forever remembered by his six children, Randy (Jeanne), Walker, La Farge; Cindy (Bob) Clausius, Hillsboro; Tim (Kim) Walker, La Farge; Kip (Kris) Walker, La Farge; Pam Walker, Westby; and Jill Walker (Tuffy Myer), Union Center; his sister, Cleota Caldwell, Belleville; nine grandchildren; two bonus grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Also, a very special niece, Vickie (Floyd) Anderson; and his always constant companion, "Smokey".
A Funeral Service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Jerry will be laid to rest at Bear Creek Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
Memorials may be given to Bear Creek Cemetery Fund, La Farge Senior Center, or La Farge Ambulance.
